On December 27th, my nonprofit blog, the Nonprofit Eye, had 39 page views. On the same day, my blog about my car, Boxster Heaven, had 440 page views.

You have a blog about Boxters? Please cancel my subscription to this blog and sign me up for the Boxster blog. :)

My general/politics blog gets far more hits than my nonprofit blog - BUT... the nonprofit blog has ten times as many subscribers.

The individual topics in the first case may get a lot of Google activity, but these are fickle readers who click and move on their way.

The nonprofit audience, while smaller, is more loyal, more involved, and better looking. Well, okay, I can't prove that last part, but you get the idea.
